I wouldn’t count on that. You just watched the GOP give away it’s ability to control the purse strings for most of this year at the end of last year in that $1.7t monstrosity omnibus. All it takes is sufficient media pressure or a little bribery & you’ll have more “bipartisan” fuckery coming down the pike in an instant.
I'll have to look into it, but I'm pretty sure they had about $500bn unspent from the stimulus bill a couple years ago, we can assume another 30% of the $1.7t - yes it is a monstrosity - is also unspent. There's an insane amount of funds available.
In terms of media pressure, McCarthy has lost atleast 9 round's - I stopped keeping track- of vote for Speakership.
