My Summary of the Infrastructure Bill

Congress & Senate have broken for their Summer recess, Passing the Biden Infrastructure Plan - here are few interesting, if not unexpected, stipulations from the official bill and my own primitive 1 line summary.

• Page 460: Invasive Plan Elimination Program - $50,000,000 per year between 2022 - 2026. That’s $250,000,000!!!

• Pages 503-519: Strategic Innovation For Revenue Collection - $50,000,000 for Studies on how to tax with road usage per mile fee’s.

• Page 556: Wildlife Vehicle Collision Research - studies in people hitting deer!

• Page 557: Transporation Resiliance and Adaptation Centres of Excellence - $50,000,000 for Climate Change Reports & engagement in communities.

• Page 747: Enhancing Cross Border Service - Upgrading Amtrak train service in CANADA.

• Pages 871,872: Combating Human Trafficking - rightly so, but how is this Infrastructure?

• Section 23007: Promoting Women in the Trucking Work-force - even though gender isnt supposed to be a thing anymore!

• Pages 911,912: Limousine Research - studying the safety of limousines…Im lost!

• Pages 1068,1069: Advanced Drunk and Impaired Driving Prevention Technology - all new cars to have a breathalyzer.

• Pages 1200,1201: Report on Marijuana Research - studies on smoking the weed and driving!!!

• Pages 1213,1214: Sport Fish Restoration and Recreational Boating Safety - again, $979,500 / year, 4 years. This is Infrastructure!

• Pages 1719-1729: Schools & Non-Profits, Grants for Energy Efficiency - $2.5 Billion in Green Energy subsidies for Schools!

• Pages 2090,2091: Digital Equity Act - broadband for all.

• Pages 2386-2399: Clean School Buses and Ferries - $5 Billion for low emission buses & $250 Million for electric ferries.

• Page 2439,2440: Strategic Petroleum Drawdown & Sale - Treasury will give SPR $43 million to Sell 87 Million barrels of reserve oil!

• Pages 2475,2476: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - they get $2.6 Billion!!!

• Central Utah Project - $50 million!

• Pages 2502,2503: Department of Energy - $16.3 Billion for renewable energy and efficiency programs. I thought this was the whole point of the bill!

• Pages 2526,2527: Carbon Dioxide Transportation Infrastructure - $2.1 Billion!

• Pages 2529: Office of Clean Energy Demonstration - $21.5 Billion for demonstrations!!!

• Pages 25372539: Independent Agencies - $1Billion for Apalacian Regional Commision (I suspect Manchin gets paid here). $150 million for the Delta regional authority. $75 million for the Denali commision (Murkowski gets paid).

• Page 2542: Federal Communication Commission - $14.2 Billion!!!

• Page 2543: Federal Buildings Fund - $3.4 Billion!

• Pages 2545,2546: Department of Homeland Security - $330 million.

• Pages 2559,2560: US Fish and Wildlife Services - $455 million.

• Pages 2561,2562: US Geological Surveys - $510 million!

• Pages 2572,2573: $4.7 Billion for P&A and workovers!

• Pages 2576,2577: Environmental Proection Agency - $2 Billion.

• Page 2616: Indian Health Service - $3.5 Billion.

And now, onto some random parts of the Bill:

• $250 million to reduce truck emissions at ports.

• $500 million for healthy streets program - bascially expand tree cover!

• $350 million for Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program - bridges for animals!
